In Dimitrovgrad, a meeting of the construction situation center for the construction of a Multipurpose Fast Neutron Research Reactor (MBIR) took place.

On August 29 in the city of Dimitrovgrad (Ulyanovsk region), a regular meeting of the construction situation center for the construction of the Multipurpose Fast Neutron Research Reactor (MBIR) was held under the leadership of the Director for Capital Investments, State Construction Regulations, and State Expert Reviews at Rosatom State Corporation, Gennady Sakharov, which focused on the discussion of the status of the project, including the progress of construction and installation works, the detailed design elaboration, the manufacture and supply of equipment, as well as other issues related to the project implementation.

The meeting participants noted the high level of the facility's readiness. Thanks to the coordinated work of all organizations involved, as well as state-of-the-art management and process solutions implemented as part of the project, the construction of MBIR has been ahead of schedule throughout the entire implementation period.

The meeting also heard a report on the results of the Student Construction Teams (SCT) members of the "Peaceful Atom - MBIR" SCT, which resulted in gratitude to the Joint Stock Company "Institute "Orgenergostroy" for the high level of reception of SCT members. The center meeting also touched upon socially-oriented topics, including the ACCNI  Cup Youth Football Tournament between the teams from Rosatom Closed Territorial Entities, which was held the day before, on August 28 in Dimitrovgrad at the Torpedo Stadium and received special appreciation.

MBIR is the fourth generation multipurpose fast neutron research reactor (JSC "SSC NIIAR”), designed for irradiation and post-irradiation research and examination, as well as for the development and testing of cutting-edge technologies and materials. The purpose of MBIR construction is to create a high-flux fast-neutron research reactor with unique consumer properties.

The leader of the construction consortium based on the Association of Organizations of the Construction Complex of the Nuclear Industry (ACCNI), and concurrently the General Contractor of the MBIR project – Joint Stock Company "Institute "Orgenergostroy", implements the project taking into account the best international practices and makes all necessary efforts to meet the work schedule to enable the advanced development and provision of innovative reactor infrastructure to the research and nuclear industries of Russia.

More than 1,800 employees of Orgenergostroy and those of subcontractors are currently building the facility.
