Electrical output: 1760MW
The “first-born” of nuclear power in Arctic Circle – Kola NPP is located on the Imandra lake coast. Light water reactors (WWER) are installed at Kola NPP.
During 37 years of continuous operation the Kola NPP generated over 330 billion of kWh.
During NPP construction a lot of innovations were applied. E.g. the power plant building was not constructed but erected (assembled) of blocks of so called reinforced forms developed by institutes “Orgenergostroy” and “Atomteploelectroproekt”.
Owing to the input of the Institute into improvement of adaptability of manufacture of the cast-in-place – precast wall elements the year round construction process was ensured.
