Rostov Nuclear Power Plant — is located in Rostov region not far from Volgodonsk town on the Tsimlyansk artificial water reservoir coast. Electrical output of three operated power units is 3.1GW.

As of June 2015, the NPP is operated at about 60% capacity. Since December 2014 testing of the third power unit was performed. Commercial operation was started on September 17, 2015. From 2001 to 2010 the plant was named “Volgodonskaya” NPP. After startup of the second Unit the plant was renamed to “Rostovskaya” NPP. The Rostov NPP is one of the largest power engineering enterprises of South of Russia providing about 15% of annual generation of electric power in the region.

In course of construction of the NPP the technical documents of multiple application and hollow block-cells developed and introduced by “Institute “Orgenergostroy” were applied many times.

JSC OES, within contractual obligations, carried out following works:

  • Designer supervision and control in course of maintenance of the containment pre-stressed system (CPS) of Rostov NPP Units №1 and №2.
  • Development of design-estimation documents for reconstruction of Administration building, of CAB and industrial site facilities providing construction of Units №3 and №4, and in course of completion of Rostov NPP Power Unit №3 in 2006-2007, providing design supervision of said works.
  • Development of working documents in course of completion of Unit №2.

The company's NPP construction methods are now being used successfully in the construction of VVER-1200 (NPP-2006) nuclear power plants and are also being incorporated into new plant designs.
