Akkuyu NPP

Akkuyu NPP (Mercine Province, Republic of Turkey) is the first-of-its-kind NPP when the project is realized by BOO (build-own-operate) basis. That means complete control of the Project from designing to decommissioning.

The Agreement for NPP construction was signed between the Governments of Russian Federation and Republic of Turkey in Ankara on May 12, 2010. Under the Agreement it is planned to build four power units with reactors of serial Russian design NPP-2006 on the basis of Novovoronezh NPP-2 (Russia, Voronezh region). The proposed electrical output is about 35 billion kWh per year and life time of over 60 years.

Under the Project the JSC OES shall perform following works:

  • Complex of works on development of design documents for Construction and Assembling Base (CAB);
  • Development of design, estimation and working documents for auxiliary facilities, including residential camp for construction personnel, cargo terminal (“Western birth”).
  • Development of working and organizational-technological documents, and of the Construction Arrangement Plan (CAP) for preparatory work as well.
  • Provision of services on expertise technical support for the Customer in course of preparation of the report on inspection of technical condition of existing at the site buildings, structures and systems, and in course of development of the Concept design and investment justification study.

The first power unit of Akkuyu NPP is assigned to be commissioned in 2023. Complete NPP construction is planned to be finalized in 2026.
