Electrical output (planned): 4800MWт
Akkuyu NPP (Mercine Province, Republic of Turkey) is the first-of-its-kind NPP when the project is realized by BOO (build-own-operate) basis. That means complete control of the Project from designing to decommissioning.
The Agreement for NPP construction was signed between the Governments of Russian Federation and Republic of Turkey in Ankara on May 12, 2010. Under the Agreement it is planned to build four power units with reactors of serial Russian design NPP-2006 on the basis of Novovoronezh NPP-2 (Russia, Voronezh region). The proposed electrical output is about 35 billion kWh per year and life time of over 60 years.
Under the Project the JSC OES shall perform following works:
The first power unit of Akkuyu NPP is assigned to be commissioned in 2023. Complete NPP construction is planned to be finalized in 2026.
